The Adventure Begins

This is a first for me.  I have thought about starting a blog for sometime, but I am a introvert that shies away from all sorts of public forums.  However, once I got the concept of designing my own degree into my head, I thought that I should journal my experiences, the good with the bad.

Another reason for me wanting to start this blog is that I sometimes get concepts or ideas stuck into my head and then they never come to fruition.  Case in-point, I attempted to start a food blog over seven years ago.  I only posted once to that blog.  It flopped like my last gluten free bread.

I don’t want to repeat history.  So, I am going to use this blog to hold myself accountable to complete this experience.  In order to do that, I would like to post at least two times a week.  That way it will help keep me on my path.

Since all of my course materials will be either in the form of open course ware or books, it is very easy to just walk away or come up with excuses for not completing any course work.  I am not able to go to classes at a set time.  I don’t have to answer to professors when I don’t show up for class.  So, how am I going to monitor myself?

This blog, in a sense, will be my professor and my class.  After each course lesson that I complete, I will write a daily recap. Sometimes, I will just post progress reports.  Other times, I will vent my frustration about how it took me over an hour to figure out that I was missing a colon or a comma.

Hopefully, I can provide some usefully information about how it is completely possibly to go from zero coding experience to a job as a data analyst.
